Seal for piston in caliper

Well, I'm a bit perplexed and some might be quick to point out this does not take much. Anyhow....recent hub melt down from a stuck caliper...replacing the main seal for the piston...ordered one from e trailer, have the old one in hand and they are the exact size...will not go in. When I thread it in the groove and holding it in hap hazzardly, when I get to the last part it loops down almost all the way to the bottom of the caliper. Heck, I can't get the one in I took out! If you lay it in where the dust seal goes it fits that and I assume the groove for the seal would be the same diameter...what am I missing? I rebuilt all the calipers couple years back but don't recall it being this much of a pain.... Post edited by rasbury on
