Broken Transom Door Latch -- Replacement needed

I guess I joined the club of boat owners who have broken the latch on the transom walk-thru door by raising the engine hatch with the door latched.  I need to order a replacement.  Does anyone know how to find out where to order the exact replacement [p/n].  I have a 2011 Rinker 260EC. I've read that Rinker uses the Perko Barrelbolt Latch and I ordered the PK00947-DP3-CHR based on a different forum's advice. However, the DP3 is larger than the one I need -- it has a 4-1/4 long bolt.  According to the catalog I received with the part, the next smallest size bolt length is 3".  The one I broke is 3-1/2 inches long.  Now I'm wondering if Rinker actually uses the Perko brand. 
How can I make sure I am ordering the right part ?  Is there a Rinker spare parts list ?  I didn't get one with the manuals I got.

Ummm, can I join the list?  Did the same thing!  Gotta be a way to disable the hatch when the latch is closed!  What do you say?

Yes, there are in fact two sizes of Perko and I believe the 342 uses the short one.  But my solution for this problem is a piece of 1/4 inch dowel cut the correct length and I just use a simple wood screw turned into the side for a lever.  Also if you notch the dowel slightly where it would break if there is a fresh mishap it should snap cleanly and nothing other than the dowel will be none the worse for wear.

Ugly but effective.  If it is too ugly for your taste, you can paint it and also if you have a spare Perko on board,  you can promise yourself you will install it someday.  But in the meantime your dowel will be earning its keep.

I had broken it twice when I went with Tonys fix last year with a dab of paint. Even splurged for another .02c wooden dowel as a spare. Looks fine and it's easily done but of course I'm done breaking them now......

I will use this method before the end of the weekend..will figure something else other than a screw...maybe a screw with a spacer or something on it so it does not look like a screw.....

That's a good price...I went another route...I had a similar latch for my shed I took off and don't need..it is not chromed but it is plated with something...it's pretty old and was not rusted. Only thing I'm worried about...the perko must be cast and breaks- this is not going to break!

working so far.
from rinker for any 1's future needs = The barrel bolt or latch is part number 2280325  $32.00 and the hinges are going to be 2240146  $10.26 each =may of 2018 prices
