Placement of gps/chartplotter/fishfinder on 2014 captiva 246.

Wanting to add the Simard GO7 but wanted to see if anyone could share where you may have placed a gps/chartplotter on your dash. I ask only because of the way the helm is curved. any suggestestions would be appreciated. Pictures would be great.

Its not mounted on the dash because I didn't have the room. But if you have a cup holder it makes a good place to mount it. This is on a 242

I can take a pic of mine this afternoon when I get home. I used a Ram brand mount so the curvature didn't matter. It's mounted on the top of the helm all the way to the right so it's not blocking my gauges and is close to the window.

Thanks for the pictures. The screen is to large and won't fit int he cup holder and the bracket won't work also.

RAM mounts makes some crazy exotic mounts as do other companies. with a bit of googling I'm sure you can find something you can use or modify slightly to meet your needs. Good luck.

Mine is in that same spot but mine is much larger.  I used the U bracket that came with the unit with the Ram mount.

Here you go..had to reach under the cover. Mine is a full size Lowrance 7.  This is the only spot it would fit and. It hit the window at the top and not block view of any gauges.

thanks everyone. Using a ram mount suction cup to the windshield. should work great.

Ram mounts are great. I had mine on a pivot arm, could pretty much move it anywhere I wanted up, down, in, out, left, right.

I just sucured my mount to a piece of wood I cut to fit the cup holder. Cut the back side of the wood and drilled a hole in the bottom of the cup holder for the wires to pass through.
