Trailer Tire Recommended Inflation

Hi Guys,

What do you typically run your air pressure at for your trailer tires?

I have a new set of Goodyear Marathon 205/75/14 tires and aluminum rims.  It says 50psi max cold on the sidewall. Should I run these at 50psi all the time?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I run all my trailers at the max all the time.  yes, they ride rough when empty, but under load, I feel it is better to have more air then not enough.  Just my opinion.

We have owned and operated a tire and auto repair shop for almost 30 years and I agree with 312, we always recommend running trailer tires at the max pressure stated on the tire. I'm sure others have different opinions, but that's mine for what it's worth.

    Thanks Guys!

Would Nitrogen inflation be better than Air?

Nitrogen is always better, no moisture in it, less pressure change with temperature, tires will last longer, etc.
