270 new horn

2005 Rinker 270 Fiesta- need a new horn. I tried to clean the old horn by taking it apart and cleaning the contacts with sandpaper like the past posts have said. Once I pulled apart the horn all the gaskets are old and cracked. I also dropped a couple of small screws in the lake. Oops!  I need a replacement horn and do not want to drill any new holes in the boat. I imagine it was the factory horn that was on the boat. I am the second owner. Anyone ever replace one without major construction? Thanks

yes.. access(if you need to get to the underside) is in the head.. not a big deal at all.. a few screws, some 5200, and 30 minutes. Boom, new horn!

I got mine at west marine, the issue I had was the bathroom wall came right under where the horn wires came down thru the deck, it was a pain to get at to splice in a new connection. Make sure you seal everything up well with marine silicone.

Fairly easy. I just spliced the 2 wires to the new horn, use heat shrink tubing on the connection.
Now it is nice and loud!
