1996 br180: how to set up boat lift

well, my first question wasn't answered so I will give this one more try. I have 1996 br180, currently I have the runners of the vertical lift set to sit in the deep "channel" on each side of the hull. Please forgive my terminology. Is this how imshould have it set?
