New wired audio remotes

I am replacing my original Kenwood remotes in my FV 290, does anyone have any tips, tricks or magic for running the wires or getting behind the remote by the battery switch?

Most of these wires run 'loose'. I would pull the old wire back while the new wire is attached, so you fish it back as you pull.

Are you replacing because the old ones do not work or are you changing brands? If its Kenwood why would you need to pull new wires? I replaced the remotes on my boat and just had to splice the new ones in.

It's the old ones with the CD changer controls, replaced the head unit with an upgraded model.

Just splice the new remotes in and it should be good to go....

On my boat I have a fresh water shower unit installed between my remote and battery switches.  I was able to simply pop that out with four screws and easily reach up to replace my control.
