Cabin hatch handle keeps loosening and leaking

Every time I open and close the hatch above my v berth the handle becomes loose and leaks.  What is the best procedure to fix?  Or should I replace?

    One of mine leaked when I first bought the boat. I was able to tighten the screw in the middle of the latch and it’s been fine ever since.

    Had the same problem. As @aero3113 said, tighten the screw. There is a sweet spot you have to find between too tight where you have trouble turning the latch and too loose and you get a leak.

    Put a little blue loctite on the screw then reinstall. Or some clear silicone.

    When I do any work on my bows or rails I put a little dab of clear marine silicone on the set screws to keep them from vibrating loose.  That's the only use I've found for Walmarts above the water line sealer.
