  Take a look at this link. If it’s fresh water cooled it will have a heat exchanger on the front of the engine (big cylinder on top front)

  I used to own a 2002 310 with 5.0 Mercs.  Loved that boat!  Probably the only complaint I had was how difficult it was to change the impeller on the generator.  I had it for 6 years and did all the maintenance myself.  Ask any questions you want.  That model does have Smartcraft, which is very nice if you want to connect up and use it.  Everything is very easy access and not bad to work on (except changing out the water heater).
