Ok so I decided to rip up the carpet in my cabin. Question is should I use a wood flooring or a vinyl flooring. Pro's and con's...

For a retrofit, click lock LVT is a great solution.  Easy and cheap.  We got ours at Home Depot.  When we needed repairs in Florida a year later, no problem - went to the local HD and it was in stock.  Glue it down.  You'll need to get the substrate relatively smooth before putting it down.  If you don't want to DIY, it's not hard to find a contractor.

I have a flooring contractor that will rip up the old carpet and install the new floor and charge $350 a day. Said it would be less than a full day to do. I just need to pick out the flooring.

I did click lock LVT overtop of the ugly plywood “teak” that was never clean. Thrilled.
