Gelcoat repairs

I have a 2008 Rinker EC with a deep blue hull. I damaged the gelcoat during launch. I have since had a gelcoat guy try to repair but he was not able to match the shade of blue of the gelcoat. Does anyone know where I can find the proper gelcoat? Appreciate it!!

Ditto the Spectrum. I also have dark blue hull, but it was a 2014 only used seasonally up north and stored indoors for the winter so it wasn't too faded when I did the repair myself around 2020 - and the Spectrum matched almost perfectly.

The caveat of how well Spectrum will match is how much your hull has faded over the years. And a really good gelcoat guy should not have a problem matching any gelcoat colors. If he can't, you should look for another one.

Where do you keep your boat? Someone on the forum may have recommendations for your area.

^^ this. No professional will use Spectrum on a boat that’s more than a couple years old. They will mix to match.

I might not have said it correctly, but that was my point. If the gelcoat guy can't figure out how to match what he's working on, find another gelcoat guy.

I keep my boat at Port Whitby Marina, Whitby, Ontario, Canada . I will definitely reach out to spectrum and see what they say. Thanks all for all the input!
