Vinyl Cabin Floor

I want to replace the carpet in my cabin with teak and holly vinyl flooring but not eva foam. I am having a very hard time finding it. Anyone do this? Where did you get the flooring? TIA

    Plasteak is an expensive option.

I would recommend “luxury vinyl” planks.

Oh man I think I like that better than the teak and holly. Now I have a decision to make. Thanks @YYZRC

It was only about $400 to do the whole cabin. Easier for me since I didn’t have carpet but I am really happy with the outcome.

I never did find any teak-and-holly vinyl plank.  We used Home Depot stuff and glued it down.  When we needed to tear up part of the floor for a repair, the glue came off without a fight.

In my case, I used double-sided tape around the perimeter. The planks lock together with a tongue and groove type system.

LVP is a very good product and I have seen it in many homes and some boats. Looks great and it's durable.

Did anyone have to rip up the rug? How much prep work was there to put down the vinyl floor?

I cut out the rug… was afraid of mold/mildew getting trapped under vinyl flooring. I used one of those oscillating multi-tools with a flat scraper blade to remove glue. Wasn’t fun but wasn’t horrible…. A few beers worth of your time.

I ripped up the carpet when i did my cabin.  I just put down new carpet but it took me almost 5 days to get the old carpet up.  It runs underneath of all the cabinets so i had to pull everything out.  Then sit there with a heavy duty scraper and hammer to get the carpet up.

Ours also goes under the cabinets and couch. I highly doubt I will go that far and remove all of that but you never know, maybe I'll be bored this winter.

Just get your expectations set.  I would say of all the work i did to my 342 that was the most satisfying.  Getting rid of the old carpet also helped get rid of the old boat smell.  So i highly recommend it.  Also recommend trying @diggin2day1 method using an oscillating tool.  I didn't have one at the time.  I swear by those things now.

Our 270 really needs the upgrade.  I wish it never had the carpet. Around the helm I think here in Florida it would be to hot on the feet and be throwing down rugs- but i love the look.
