Labor day!

Hopefully all will share their boating adventures this weekend and the pictures to prove it. I know for many of you this is your last blast before pulling your boats. Seems like most have had an active summer.
I do not attempt to boat our area this holiday (or any otheres) which most is a fairly narrow river- and gets more narrow with all the rednecks driving daddies boat drunk- no where to escape them. Plus the boat cops are on it- just not worth it. And, it's to frigging hot here in Florida- waters are 80's to 90.  The weather will start turning a little bit making it a bit more enjoyable to be on the water- I'm chasing a couple of gremlins and need a good buff out too to get ready for some boating. If I was boating costal it would be a whole different program.

Hope everyone has a great and safe weekend!

I am with @rasbury. Too hot and too many nuts on the water on holidays. We are getting thunderstorms every afternoon here. For those that can enjoy the day, please do and stay safe.

At anchor deep in a cove.   The drinking will continue until the crowds disperse.

The fake death valley is just minutes down the lake from where we're hiding out.  The tigers from the real death valley are in town today.  This means most of the idiots will be off the lake today for tailgating.

You guys have a fun safe weekend on or off the water.

Just got the land yacht home from a long weekend in Santa Claus, Indiana. The RV park is next to an amusement park called Holiday World. They had 4 very good roller coasters at this park in the middle of nowhere.

Beautiful day on our waterways. Perfect temps, no wind, not even very busy. Perfect. Went to a stretch of beach on a small island I was yet to visit on the boat. Wife and I were fortunate to have my 2 daughters along and one son in law for the day. Sad that it is September already. Hope everyone had a great Labor Day.

Clemson lost, Carolina won.   Not a rainy cloud in the sky.  Terrific labor day weekend.

Our weather in fl was abd still is- normal for this time of the year. Rare not to have a hurricane to talk about just about now. We are 45 miles inland so tornados more our concern.
    Great pictures, thanks for sharing!

Took a nice ride up Black River in Port Huron on Labor Day. Saw this sweet ride...
Pershing 108. Surprised they got it that far up the river.

One would think even being 200 plus miles from the ocean you'd be safe from hurricane damage.   They are just now opening parts of chimney rock and the blue ridge parkway back up from Helene.

The horse pasture (as known to locals, now Jocasee Gorges) opens the 15th for hunting season.   I'm anxious to see how that area looks now.  Thousands in and around the Appalachian are still without homes.   In areas where the water levels went up 20ft it washed roads, homes, cars, trees and anything else in its path they will likely never finish cleaning areas where the debris is piled.   Still searching for bodies of those missing...and it's not on the news.

@PickleRick yes I get it- born and raised here.  We are flat as pee on a plate and the soil is totally different. We have floods in the rivers inland- but not flash floods. Totally different terrain. We have had 130 winds blowing through- trees go over- that sort of damage is our problem. Power, if we lose it, might be out for a day. Living in the city does have pluses, especially if you live next to the sheriff's office and several medical facilities.
