  Order a bit longer than you think you need and cut the pieces a bit longer that it looks like you need. My ocd friend installed new strips on a hot day. Sitting in the sun on the roll, the material had expanded and lengthened. each cut strip was about 3/4"  longer due to heating expansioin. When they cooled down there were gaps 3/4" to an 1" long. it drove him nuts LOL
