Outdrive Oil screw filings(lower)

Changing out my drive oil on my Alpha Gen 2 this morning. First time in 3 seasons. Should I be concerned with the small amount of filings on the screw plug? This is my first time doing this . The dealer changed it out about 3 years ago when doing the impeller so I have no idea if this is considered natural wear and tear.

Your going to have wear...shops will pull those plugs and show a customer to get work not necessary...

not sure about what is coming out, but I have 2 bottles of HP gear lube from mercury going in.

Nice, just read the bottle and says to change out every 50 hours if running in salt....thats me. I will now do it annually.

Thats great to hear as well Ras. The rest of the oil was just a bit darker than the fresh. She's all ready for winter now. Scheduled to go in the storage building next Saturday for 6 months. Enjoy your winter/Spring boating in Florida.
