Anyone have or know of a good source for a preloved B3 gimbal ring with a good swivel pin top? Mine can't be rebuilt apparently and a new one is not cheap. Looking at options.

Is yours cracked? The only reason that JR won't rebuild is if it's cracked or extremely corroded.

Corroded. I think the best path is to lay out the cash for a new one. No risk.

They only have new units, won't sell a rebuild without a good exchange core to use.

hmmm, I bet both of my old transom assemblies have a good gimbal ring on them.  I have B-2s, but I believe it is identical to B-3s.  Definitely nothing wrong with them, as I replaced one due to a transom leak and the other as preventive maintenance.  Although, I'd replace new if it were me.

    You saved them?

Well, right now since it's still in the shop, he has all the old parts for me to look at.  I always like to look at the old stuff when it's replaced, just to see how worn out they were.  (although, I went to the boat earlier today and he was replacing the wire harness, so hoping for good news maybe today).
