Tides

Thought this would be an interesting topic. How much of a tide swing do you get in your area? A normal tide change in my area is 9 feet and up to 12 feet on "moon" tides......

On the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay, 3 feet is typical. Maybe 5 feet in some locations. I can't imagine having to deal with 12 feet. Can you even use fixed piers?

Delaware river we get 6-7. In and out quick. At low tide some of our boats can't get out or in. We are in need of dredging

No our docks are floating.....

Can be up to 45 feet over here in the Severn estuary U.K. Normally about 30.

I know in some parts of eastern Canada its 35 feet

I'm in CT and my tides are about 3 feet. Although this weekend for some reason tides were running real high at about 4 feet.
Its crazy to me that Boston area has tidal ranges that great and they are only about 80 miles north of me.

I have heard of some of those 35 ft. tides....that must be crazy to deal with for boating....what about ramps? Are they 100' long? When I do salt water I never retrieve at low tide as the ramp is to slippery...how the heck do you deal with that???
