Your only low fuel alarm is the sputtering as you run out of gas, unfortunately. Use the old rule: 1/3 tank to get there, 1/3 to get back, the last 1/3 as reserve.
thanks guys, now I have to figure out why for the last two weekends my alarm has went off. she is running great, and all gauges read normal. after a day on the water and heading back to the ramp, it will loss a little power and alarm will sound. I just let off throttle a little and it goes away.
i remember you posting that thread a while back, Drew. I just revisited it and WOW that's good. I copied it and sent it to myself via email so that if I'm ever out and have an alarm, I don't have to sift through the forum. thanks!
On the '98 232 with a merc engine, there are 3 things that will set off the alarm. Low outdrive lube, high engine temperature and low oil pressure. I would start with the outdrive lube reservoir like Black Diamond said.
