Leak question

if always had the cockpit cover on and the snaps go over the windshield I have the boat home now with the camper top on raining all day and I see a leak in the cabin that must be coming from where the windshield meets the deck ...... any suggestions should I remove the headliner and take alook or try to seal from the outside . I read these boats are prone to dry rot in that area
