Shift adjustment

Looking for your assistance.
2001 232CC with 5.7 EFI, Bravo3.
This year Its hard to shift from neutral to fwd/rev. I'm sure it needs adjustment. Does anyone know the dimension from the hole in the end of the cable to the barrel? Thinking around 7".
Or needing a new cable.

    It is I believe 7 which is where I set mine when I replaced it. I would assume if it has stretched out it does need replacement....

    My guess is that you'll end up replacing the cable.
    No longer a boat owner.....previous boat - 2005 Rinker Fiesta Vee 342
