Gimbal Bearing (Again!)

2006 342 with the Merc.  Just had the port engine&Drive removed to replace coupler.  While out I asked them to remove the starboard drive to check alignment. They stated alignment was good and no issues noted.  2 days later my starboard gimbel bearing, which is the sealed type that was replaced two seasons ago, is growling every time I turn the boat.  Now if there is no water in the bellow and the engine is aligned, how is it that the bearing can go bad so soon?

Bearings usually fail from a few things, rarely from being a 'bad' bearing.  Improper installation is high on the list, then alignment of the drive of course, contamination (water, debris).

the spline is creating stress on the bearing when you turn..... I'll bet it's alignment or bad universals
