I have the following pattern to make the only starboard engine overheating.  running in the water no issues, but shut down the engine or low speed then it's overheating alert coming.  I am trying to replace the impeller when the boat in the water but got troubles, the water from hose is not stopped and I have to start bilge pump. anyone get experience with this?

The hose needs to be raised up above the water line.  I've done it a few times on the 342, should not be a problem in the water.

You can also use something to plug the hose that's what I've done.

yea in my 342 I've changed the hoses in the water and I did both gravity and plug. I was able to hold the hoses up above the water line to stop most water. I also had some larger screw drivers and I used those handles to plug the hoses when I had to lay them down in the bilge. Some water gets in but not enough, bilge only kicked on a few times in the hour or two I was working down there.
