I own a 2001 270 Rinker I have to replace the shower sump. Looks like it a hard place to get into. Has any one taken the steps out to get to the sump./ You can see the sump through the opening hole in the aft cabin but not enough space to work on it.

Lots of space. Take the 4 screws out holding it in a and turn it sideways and it will come out . But if the sump box is good you can just change out the pump. No need to tear out steps.

I recently replaced the shower pump switch on my 2004 270 and learned that it's easiest to lay on your stomach aft of the sump while working on it.  Much more comfortable than working on it from the front.
