Did my boat come equipped with a bilge blower?

Hi,

Another newbie her. I just bought an '89 186 Captiva with a 4.3 L engine. Can anyone tell me if this boat was shipped with a bilge blower? I see an empty spot on the dash that says "Blower", but the previous owner said that he just lifted the cover when he started it.

Sounds like the previous owner removed the blower because they didn't want to replace it... I would replace it because it comes with a blower and it is unsafe not to have one.

I did find the hoses mounted in the bilge and the exhaust ducts mounted to the vents. What I don't have is the switch. This boat has the long toggle switches with a lighted tip. Under the dash there is a small empty, but wired box. Would this plug onto the back of a pronged switch? Is there any other way that I can jump something to see if the blower is operational?

Guys,

Need more help. I found what I hope is a compatible 3-prong lighted switch for my blower. I know that "black" is ground. I also have a "yellow" and an "orange" Which one is power and which one is "acc"?

if'n I ain't crazy, the switch is going to bridge the orange and the yellow... :-)

if you wire it, and the switch light is on in the off position, you wired them backwards.. if the light doesn't light in the off position, and the accessory (blower) works and light illuminates in the 'on' position, you're good..

Almost too easy! Duh. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to fry something hooking this up.

no harm in asking.... I can trouble shoot with the best of them------------ when it ain't my rig.... when it's my rig,,,,,, well..... I ask... :-)
