Reverse Polarity on Inverter Generator?

Trying out my new 2000 watt Inverter Generator to charge up batteries for overnight anchor. Reverse Polarity light is lit on panel but everything is working well. No big deal? Is it because no hard ground?

I don't know.  I never have this issue using my Honda EU2000i on my 2000FV270.  What connector/adapter are you using on the shorepower cable to connect to the generator?

Using a Marinco 30/15 amp adapter on my regular shore power cord, Marinco EEL.

This is the set up. Oddly enough, as the batteries charged up the red reverse polarity light started to flicker and then pretty much went out. Everything worked fine, even ran the microwave no problem. Not really worried about it, more just trying to understand what's going on.
Edit. Ooops here is the pic.
