04 FV 270 FUEL SENDER/GAGE QUESTION

skuter99skuter99 Member Posts: 174 ✭✭

When I am running in the boat, the fuel gage almost always reads full. Once we are stopped and I turn the key on again

the fuel gage shows the fuel tank level at the new lower measurement. Anybody else have this issue and had it fixed, or know what the issue is?

Is it just because the fuel is being sloshed to the back of the tank while running??

I would love to have the gage always show me an accurate reading......

Yes. Sender is at rear of tank otherwise you'd never be able to get at it without tearing the boat apart.

Are you trimming the boat so that it runs level when you are on plane?  The fuel gauge should still be pretty accurate when you are running.  It should not always say full.
