Anyone else get caught in that mini hurricane in long island sound yesterday?

First day of official vacation was a doozy yesterday. 

Had a front blow through in the morning.

Then after twenty minutes on the beach we started getting warnings from friends. Immediately pulled everyone and everything back on to the boat. A friend took this picture just as we throttled up (sorry gimbal bearing):

Havent seen anything like this, land or water in my entire 40 years of life. !

We had heavy rain and wind in Setauket, a few tree branches down on the property. My cousin took these pics in Islip.

It made its way across the island to the Great South Bay and over to Fire Island.

It sheared the bolts off my stainless anchor/flag mount and took it away... here is a video I found from the Fair Harbor Ferry(this is the Great South Bay!!!!)

Geesh! We get what we call straight line storms here in FL around this time of the year...it can be nice...go to 60 mph winds and 15 minutes later, sunshine and no breeze. We had one last week that blew our boat down my very flat street- if it had not hit grand daughters car, might still be looking for it!

Video's all end short thanks to lightning (EMP) that was striking down all around us. Boat took to hits close enough it hurt and knocked out the engine.
