yep. just went through this. siphoned at least 12 gallons of water out of mine. i used my west marine oil pump and pumped it out about 1 gallon at a time. i siphoned mine dry just to be safe. and change your fuel separator and keep a couple of spares on your boat
I use Heet for small amounts of water. For gallons....pump out is the the only way. That's a ton of water. The water maker is supposed to go to the water holding tank not the fuel tank!
Dang. 12 gallons of water! Was it from bad o-rings?
There was no o-ring (there is now). And the boat sat for 3 years so some of that might have been fuel separation. Either way it was 12 gallons of stuff that wouldn't run in our boat....lol
The best "make warter burn" fuel additive I've seen required a 1:1 ratio product to water. I have the the privileged of being paid to occasionally sleep through these "update" schools put on by my distributors which are usually less tech related and more sales pitch related. It was neat seeing them run a small engine after putting water into the fuel tank but that would have been an expensive fuel treatment for 12 gallons of water

if you have considerable amount of water in the tank just pump it
