Trim and MPH Gauge not working

Hi Everyone!
I recently had my motor rebuilt after a several year hiatus and now works great!!
But my Trim and MPH gauges don't work.  All the rest work fine.

First: I looked behind the panel of the Trim gauge and there seems to be a red wire strung along towards the trim pump (in the engine compartment) but doesn't connect to any of the many wired connections on the pump.
I tested each one to see of I get a proper usage response, but nothing.
Which connection nut on the trim pump does that red wire connect to?

Second: I think the MPH gauge is properly hooked up to the outboard correctly....but to make sure,
Where exactly does the MPH gauge hook up too?

Turns out my Oil Gauge isn't working either....Hmmm.
All Gauge Lights work.

Here are some pics of the gauge set...
The first pic is the Trim Gauge.
Thanks in advance guys!

Artist, you posted that your trim, mph and oil pressure gauges do not work after rebuilding your engine, so to me it sounds like something other that problems with the gauges. Lets start off with the trim gauge - you didn't mention whether or not your lower unit actually goes up and down but if it does, then the issue is most likely with the tilt / trim switches located on each side the lower unit at the pivot point. My guess is that the switches were not wired back up after the lower unit was re-installed after the engine was re-installed. Oil gauge not working - again, my guess is that the sender wire was never plugged back in on the engine sending unit when the engine was re-installed. MPH gauge - these gauges work off of water pressure - as the boat moves through the water, water is forced into a "pickup tube" also known as a pitot tube which in turn pushes against a diaphragm in the speedo which in turn registers speed. The pickup is typically mounted on the transom. My guess is the the pitot tube is clogged or the rubber hose is disconnected at the pickup or the pickup Is broken. On some lower units, the leading edge of the lower unit has a small hole where water is forced in as the boat is moving. On the backside of the lower unit, there is a rubber hose that attaches to a fitting which then passes to the speedo. Good luck!

    Thanks Guys!
@ Frodo... I suspect the that they just didn't hook everything up after rebuilding the engine as well.
That is why I asked about that red wire going to the Trim pump (which was overhauled also and works BTW) ...It was just hanging there, and I traced it back to the non-working trim gauge. so i'm thinking it must attach somewhere on the trim pump...Maybe?

So I'll take your invaluable advice and check out where the lead connections originate.
1: Tilt / trim switches located on each side the lower unit...I hope I don't have to take that apart to access them.
2: Engine sending unit...Don't know where that is located.. but I can cross reference on Google I presume.

3: Pilot tube on transom or Lower Unit... Will try and clear out the clog. (I have an alpha one BTW)

Thanks again for the great help guys!!

    Edit:
I looked at the Pilot tube connection on the lower unit, and it wasn't connected...Connected it.. and It works!

Also located the Oil sending unit and connect the disconnected wire there too....It works!

I still cannot find the tilt /trim switches on either side of the lower unit...And still don't know where to connect the red power wire somewhere onto the trim pump....But I'm persistent.

Thanks again for all your help! Frodo and Boomer!
