Weak bilge pump

I went to go pump out a little water in my bilge and my pump seems to work fine and suck up water but it wont push it out.  I pulled the hose to see if it was clogged and its wide open.  Do these pumps lose power over time?  I bought a new one but curious if it could be a different issue. 

Also Rule 1100 gph 27D looks to be discontinued which is what I have now.  In efforts to not have to screw new holes, has anyone replaced with the 27DA and know if the holes line up?

Is there enough water being pumped out to fill the hose and go overboard? If there isn't enough water it cant push it all the way out.

I would think so, it sucks it up and then all comes rushing back out.  Maybe Ill do a little test

If you want, use a hose to fill the bilge a little more then see what it does.

I appreciate the tips I’ll go have a look.  It is original, 2006, so I’ll replace anyways.

Definitely replace.  You got a lot of years out of it.  I tend to get around 5 out of mine.  You'd think that something so important would be built better or more reliable.  It does sit in a really bad environment.

Geesh dream, how much water you pumping out? If mine comes on again, I'm looking for a leak!

I don't pump out much, if any at all.  Actually, it gets most use when I clean the bilge (which is quite often).
