Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Campaign

Just a note to say that Coast Guard Mutual Assistance is in the midst of their annual campaign. The organization was formed in 1924 to provide assistance to Coasties and their families in times of need.

The Coast Guard, unlike the other four military branches does NOT get paid during government shutdowns, yet they are still required to work and be on station and risk their lives for all of us in distress.

The CGMA is the organization that provides that help to the Coasties. For instance, during the last government shutdown they provided over $8.4 million to over six thousand CG families to help them pay rent, medical and dental bills, etc., either through grants or low cost loans.

If anyone is interested in learning more about the program, here's the link: https://cgmahq.org/
