Boat weights

I'm going to be in the market for a new trailer in the next year so starting shopping now. Does anyone know if the dry weight of my 2004 212 listed at 3100lbs includes the motor?  I have read online that  some manufacturers do not.  I was looking at a Venture with a 4100lb load rating, but I know the engine is the best part of 1000lbs which would max out that trailer.

I looked up on boat.test #3120 that would be with the motor. I think the Venture at #4100 will do a gread job with you 212. Remember 10 to 15% of the wieght on the hitch. This does make the trail wieght higher.

Thanks  @reneechris14.  There is a new Venture 4225 in Ontario on sale for $4000. The next one up, the 5225, is the same frame, with a 5000lb load rating for $4750.

Weigh boat and trailer. Then put boat in water and weigh trailer. Subtract the two. Unless you know weight of the trailer.

Dont forget to account for some 500 lbs of the crap that accumulates in a boat, plus the food, fuel, coolers etc you'll be hauling around. 

I once unpacked a 21 ft sailboat i had for 3 years and didnt have enough room to fit it all in a 26 ft sailboat when i made the trade.  Now if i don't use it at least once a month it stays home unless i know I am going to need it.

You said dry weight above @halifax212 but unless you run the tanks dry allow for that weight too.

@icoultha  yes....3100lbs plus 500 pounds of fuel/gear puts me at 3600lbs. I noticed the original trailer sticker has a load rating of 4000lbs  with GVWR 5000lbs. This must mean the trailer weighs 1000lbs plus the load of 4K. Pretty sure I will get the Venture with the 4100lb load rating.
