Refrigerator Veneer

So the previous owner installed a new microwave and only had double sided tape keeping it in place. I question him about that and he said he never had an issue. Of course, I’m parked on the sea wall till Sunday and today the winds are crazy out of the north. I was on board and heard a loud crash and glass breaking, the microwave fell!!!! Luckily it fell on my electrical tool box and didn’t hit the floor! Only the turntable broke but left a gouge in my fridge! Is the veneer available for purchase??

Pretty sure it is standard cherry veneer.  You could try one of those scratch fillers for furniture as a cheap fix too.

Get a black Sharpie, circle the gouge and write "Courtesy of previous owner."

Or actually, before you do that, maybe try:  fill the gouge with wood putty, stain to match and finish with tung oil.  But it won't be as satisfying.

Thanks guys, it could’ve been a lot worse. What are the chances of there being a cherry finish on the back side?

Zero. Ours from PO had been damaged and was not good. Ended up using a sheet of black lettering vinyl (was already black) so maybe you can find something similar in the cherry finish to stick over?

I just glad my tool box was on the floor and it damaged that and not the floor!!

On my 2008 280EC, it is "low gloss wild cherry", which is what I was told from Rinker.
