Generator hose with fitting

I was just out snooping around in the engine bay and noticed this line coming off the backside of the generator. What’s it used for? Winterizing? What screws onto that?

Its a air loop or anti siphoning loop. Its in the manual in the install page.

That is your anti-siphon loop / valve. In that top cap is a rubber valve that prevents the cooling water from siphoning back into the genny.  It is worth replacing that valve so it does not go bad. West Marine carries them. A couple bucks at most.

@aero3113, looking at your photo of the loop, there are 4 stain trails that appear to stop at the hull joint.  If you look up, I'm betting you'll see they start at the starboard cleat.  I had the exact same issue.  Ended up cleaning out hole, drying out, filling with epoxy and resetting cleats using butyl tape.  I had the same problem with the 3 stainless handles on and near the stern locker.  You might want to check them also.
