Slipping Rubber Prop bushes

Can anyone help or offer some insight...I have a Volvo d4-260 in a 270FV.  Has anyone experienced or know what happens when the rubber bushes in the prop start to slip? According to my engineer I have slippery bushes!!  (At 3000 revs am usually at 28knots but now I barely reach 8knots.  Engine sounds fine, turbo kicks in but there is no surge or grunt of power....appreciate any thoughts or insight!!

Could be. Could be some other things

I did not think duo prop's had the rubber bushing ?  I know the single prop's did. And yes if it is a single prop that is likely your problem. Had that happen in the past.

Looks like duoprops have bushes, what was the impact to performance when these went ?

Learn something new every day.  I knew the Bravo 3s didn't have hubs (my Bravo 2s do), but now I know the Volvo duoprops do.  I used to go thru hubs quite a bit.  After switching mine to Hill Marine, the hubs have been great!  good luck with the change out.  Please take pics of the old hubs/new hubs if you can.

Will do.... still learning...are the hubs like a form of clutch and so a wearable item ?

Yes, kind of like a wearable clutch.  They are also there in case you hit something with the prop, it will give and maybe save your outdrive or something further up.  Unfortunately my hubs aren't going to give, so when I hit something this summer, I took out my outdrive and coupler.
