Fenders; Taylor Made Big B or Polyform HTM??

Been using Taylor Made Big B's. Like the hole through the middle type. I know Polyform HTM's are similar.

Need a couple bigger 10" diameter ones for rafting up.

What about fender covers - never had them before. I assume just to protect gelcoat...no?

Fender covers are also useful for overnight raftups.  They prevent the fenders from squeaking when the boats move.

@LaRea hit the nail on the head.  I'm usually the first boat to the raftup, so I put anchor out and then all 4 of my covered fenders.  No squeaking at night is the main purpose of them for me!  Invest in some good ones (not the WM ones).  They will last a long time.  Mine are on ~ year 10 now (I took them off my fenders when I sold my 310).

Good info fellas. I have four (8"x20") Taylor Made Big B's already. Just need a couple bigger 10"x26" for midship when rafting. I'll take a closer look at the quality covers too.

Just need a place to put all the crap...I want to get the holders that go on the bow rails but that's a 2nd mortgage...
