Winless breakers

So part of my troubles today and last time I used it, breaker back by the battery switch blows...so how do I track this down to the problem? I don't think this was hardly/ever used by po...I replaced the main switch/breaker at the helm as a post on the back had snapped off somehow and worked fine the couple of times I used it....

Is it the horizon 600 windlass? Mine kept doing the same thing, turned out the gear on the motor was seizing up and causing extra amperage draw

Did you have to replace it or were you able to lube it and get it working correctly?

Certainly sounds like the motor is drawing too many amps. With it barely being used, it could be rusted up inside. You can take the motor off and have it serviced. I had the brushes done on mine a few years ago.

There is a little gear that slides up and locks when you use the windlass. Mine was getting jammed, I took it off and just welded it in place, it seems to be working, but I'm not sure for how much longer.

Maybe I just need to cycle it a bunch...they are sealed pretty well...

See if you can get some oil to #22, my guess is this is where the water would first enter.
