    using different colors for different length dock line is floggin' brilliant.... and it never crossed my mind.. good read!!!

    Arrgg, hey there swabby while there might be soap on a rope, I was always told that there is no ROPE on a boat.... :ar!

    Not unlike most, my sailboats were covered with dozens of "colored lines" for trimming sails in nearly every hue just to keep them somewhat clear as to what's what. I've gotten so used to just hitting the key to make my new venture go that this never crossed my mind either. Great idea on our beloved stinkpot too.

    We call it poka-yoke in the manufacturing world: mistake proofing.  Different colors ID the line length (or diameter), I did mine this way more of habbit than thinking of it lol.  Slowly swapping over my transient lines for the same reasons.
