I can’t get my spotlight to work. I tried the pairing instructions for the wireless remote but doesn’t seem to be doing anything. No clicking or movement. Any tricks?

Batteries in remote. Check for voltage at the light. Make sure the remote is still paired to the light.

Batteries are new, I’ll have to check voltage at the light. I can’t get it to pair, so I can’t check if it’s paired, LoL!

@aero3113 by the time your boat gets in the water it's gonna be better than new 😆. I do like having mine in the water at the marina but it would be nice to be doing some work on it at my house.

Yea, I would love for it to be in the water right now! But, if it was, I wouldn’t be able to get anything done. I’m almost to the point where I feel like it can go in the water without wondering if I should’ve worked on something.

I’m assuming that there’s constant power to the light and the remote just opens and closes the circuit?

I might have been using the wrong instructions. I just found this and it says to hold down the power button and the speed button then add power, the other one only said to hold down the power button then add power. Would be nice it that’s the issue, something to try tomorrow!

The light does have constant power. The remote is an RF remote. BTW, I replaced my bulb with the LED one last year. That thing is bright and uses less power.

Thanks @Cableguy Greg , I’ll probably switch over to the LED bulb if I can get it working,

I had to change my remote at one point. GoLight had great customer service. They sent me a new one rather cheap. When I mounted it, I put a washer between the remote and the helm to let water pass behind it. Mine is mounted by the pole from the bimini top and if we got a good rain, water would run down that part of the dash.

I'm having the same issue.  Light worked during sea trail.  Got the boat home and now... nothing.

@JimGuy341 does you light rotate? Or you have nothing at all?

@aero3113 nothing at all.  The red LED light comes on when I push the buttons on the remote.  But nothing is happening at the light.

Same here, I think the remote needs to be paired to the light. Try disconnecting power to the light. The way to do it easily is pull the wire off the back side of the breaker. Hold the power button and speed button at the same time while reconnecting the wire on the breaker. Hold for a few seconds and hopefully the light and remote will pair. I’m going to try this today.

I'll give that a try.  Battery switch on/off won't work to disconnect power?

It might, but if your doing it by yourself I think this is the only way.

Pairing didn’t work for me today. I did some trouble shooting and spoke to Go-Light. It seems like the receiver in the light might be bad. Once I get the shrink wrap off I will be able to get the light off and check for power to it. If it is bad, he said it’s about a $40.00 part.

Keep me posted.  Since mine worked before, I'm thinking pairing won't be the answer for me either.

I ended up buying a brand new spotlight on eBay for a great price, probably because the new LED version is out. I was surprised to see it showed up today. I also purchased an LED conversion (hasn’t arrived yet). I took the light apart to prep for the LED. Very easy to remove the top cover to access the bulb, motors and receiver.

Nice! I just noticed that the rebuild gear kit for my jabsco is no longer available. Should have ordered while it was available last year.

So we have up to 70 mph gusts today with heavy rain. I’ve been keeping an eye on the boat. Just before I look out and see the spotlight on! LoL. When I paired the new light and remote in my garage it must’ve connected to the old light on the boat. I must have a bad remote on the boat. Now I have my old light for spare parts , LoL!

Hilarious. Nothing wrong with spare parts.

i want to mount a new LED Golight on our arch, hesitant with fishing the wire down from arch to cockpit. Boat doesn’t have docking lights either. Only got a handheld marine QBeam.....works well.

Probably nothing wrong with the halogen Golights for the few times you need them each year. Not fond of night boating anyway.
