spring ready?

2005 Rinker captiva 212 rx1, pulled boat out for spring cleaning and getting her ready. I store with prop off, 5 blade s/s, found a big square piece of plastic behind the anode, killed it to get it, 1st thought was part of the exhaust flapper but it is square. I checked out a couple things and it seems like a rubber dam near lower end water pump, I do have a Seloc book and in it it states most won't have these... do I need it or not? what would it hurt? help!!

Do you have a picture of it? A pic from the manual also? Trying to visualize what it could be.

it's the rubber filler plug.

I’m not familiar with that part. I guess the 01 242 I sold had a rubber one.
