Ball valve on flush muffs

My hose valve on the house is about 100 feet from the boat. Would make life much easier if I can turn the water off at the boat. Seems like the hole is the same size as the muffs, any use one?

Used them for testing pressure washers, didnt want to walk thru the building to turn water on/off.  Made life much easier

I've used them, especially when I begin winterization.  Helps me turn off water supply after running for a bit and easily switch to pink stuff.  You just need to be careful not to run the engine any higher than idle.  Also, as always, make sure you get good water drawl up into the pump.

I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this years ago, LoL! My Camco flush kit does have one to switch over from water to pink.

Is your starboard outdrive (or transom assembly) newer?  It's got the newer logo!

Yea, I don’t know if the starboard side is original or not. It has a steering pin kit installed, so I don’t know.

I would think if it was newer it wouldn’t have the pin kit installed.

Thanks @Alswagg , the ones I used do cover the intakes completely, I made sure. The one you posted looks like it will secure better and have no chance of falling off. I’ll pick those up for next season. What about the one that allows water in from both sides?

I prefer the rectangular muffs.  I've helped out several people winterize and switched most of them over to the rectangular muffs.  They hold much better and seem to be made for the bravo drives.

My coworker just bought the rectangle ones, curious to see how well they work.

I’ve always had success with both round like yours and rectangle on my bravo 3s.... but..... I borrowed the same one that Al posted one year from the shop I was at and it was awesome, by far worked the best! Would be worth buying if you think you will use it a lot.

I actually bought it today on amazon. I read that it doesn’t leak much when used which is great when using the winterization flush kit.

I also believe part of it is how you put them on.  The one Al recommended holds nicely thru the drive itself, which is great.  So, how the others are put on I believe can also be the problem.  But, when I install, I have the metal bar actually go up behind the drive, against the transom.  It holds very well and doesn't leak a drop when running pink thru it. Also, the one I have has water that goes into both sides, which helps so the water itself isn't pushing it off.
