Snaps on windshield connector

I bought a replacement connector this season and went to install snaps on it....I can't for the life of me get it to work.  I've done it before.  It's like the snap studs are too short, but it's what Ameritex provided.

Any tips for making it easier?  My kit is a pair of vise grip pliers and snap dyes for installing.

I used a pair of these. The white plastic parts compress the fabric as it is being crimped.

@skennelly you would think with the vice grip pliers you would be able to compress the fabric enough to do it.

@aero3113 - I know.  Yesterday I was trying to do 500 things all at once to get the boat ready for launch today and was very frustrated and impatient.  I'm going to try again

Lol took a breathe and tried one this morning.  Turned out my placement of the snap was the issue.  Moved it up about a centimeter and it went in fine.

There you go! I hate when I have a ton of stuff on the list and trying to get it all done at once.
