Helm Cover

What do you guys use to cover your helm? I stole this table cloth from my wife, was extremely happy with the fit. I’ll see how this goes, if I don’t like it I’ll have one custom fit.

I use an old beach towel but last time I put it on I thought to myself... I need something bigger. I like the tablecloth idea 🤔

@Aqua_Aura , the table cloth folds up very neatly also. You can see it in the cubby under the dash in this pic.

I had this made up when I replaced my top. Seems to work well

I use a bunch of beach towels, but I like the tablecloth or sheet idea.

I have a piece of sunbrella fabric the PO had on the boat. To bad he never covered it my switch panel is faded.

Old beach towel. Also use it to wipe dew off the windshield. Once it gets too ugly it becomes a rag and I sacrifice another towel.

We use sheets to cover the helm and all cockpit seats when we leave boat.  When we arrive, we just put them in the car.

I used to use towels. Had a cover made a few years ago by a slipmate who made covers at home. Made up covers for my seating too. That sun we all love just UV’s stuff to death. Can only imagine how much worse it is down south!

I have always used a towel but I plan to make something more tight and custom for the new boat. Really doesn’t matter what you use, just make sure to use something. The sun will wreak havoc on gauges, plastic, switches....
