Wife and I talked about a fire place forever...we love them.  Decided time was right.  Just finished the stone work today...what you think?

Let's see your non boat projects while you are stuck at home.

Very cool.  Have you considered a curved screen?  At work I have a 49" curved...no bezels is really nice.

The center monitor is new, and it's curved.  The two outside screens are older flat panels.

Nice projects both of you. I'd share my stay at home project but I don't think anybody wants to see the stack of empty beer cases in my garage....first thing anybody would ask is "How many people live with you?" but it's all just me.  :|

i have not done many home projects for myself but i did get a call when the admirals mom had a water leak after a tractor bush hogging her field got too close to the cap.  This was a fun muddy repair.

@LaRea - It's travertine ledger stone...basically a stone veneer.  Yes real stone.  Goes together like puzzle pieces.  Does require cutting with a tile saw but very easy to work with.

@LaRea Very nice setup! I keep trying to justify something similar for flight and racing sims, but keep talking myself out of it.

Looks good, we did that almost exactly in our previous house. Wife loved it.
Only issue is we could only have the fireplace on for about 20 min.
Then it would turn into Willhounds sauna. Basements hold heat like a bandit.

After my house fire last July, I moved back into the house just as COVID-19 hit in March, so I've had no shortage of projects to work on.  Here's the latest:  I'm almost done rebuilding my racing simulator.  I still need to align the screens and tidy up some cables, but you get the general idea.  A boy and his toys.

That is hard core! Nice ... I have a fold up setup that I put in front of my huge projection screen ... pretty good too, but nothing like that!

I've done a few smaller projects, mostly landscaping, some re-organizing ... but my "best" project by far is I took my perfectly good front lawn (in fact it hasn't looked better in years, due to some prep in the fall) ... and I decided, let's make it more perfect, more green ... let's add some fertilizer ... a couple of days later, brown spots ... I guess I spilled too much here and there. Well, did I ever make a mess ... had to rip out those spots and replant, and now working to get that new grass to take.  At least I'm not bored ... lol.

I used to have a 3-screen rig with three PS3 consoles.  Then I got a PS4 with a VR headset instead of triple screen, but didn't like it.  The current rig is an i7 PC with an NVIDIA RTX-2060 video card that is screaming fast.

Next house project:  fireplace mantle, which actually looks a lot like the one @skennelly has.  It was due for installation this week, but the crew chief got sick.  They think he has the Rona.

Wife & I went to Paris & Monaco bout 10 years ago - room was right over the race tunnel. Spectacular place. We were there a week before the GP. I walked the track during set up.....pretty sweeet.

FYI: $35 USD for a rum & Coke. $200 for 2 cafe sandwiches & 2 Oranginas (no booze).

    Heads up if you go.
    Burn cash like crazy.
