I have a semi-inground pool and we want to get an automatic pool vacuum/robot thingy... I know it’s not Rinker related but I figured I’d ask you guys... Any advice on what type/brand? What to look for?
@diggin2day1 , it has its own suction motor in the unit. You can see the two filters on top that I pulled out in the third picture. Just plug it in, drop it in choose settings and press power.
If you have a semi in ground and assume you have a simple design round above ground that is dug in? If so, there are much cheaper ones as they get real pricy...I have one from Hayward, called a lady bug I think...uses the pool vacuum- I have a 10000 gallon in ground so it's on the small side. It's like 150 vs. several hundred and works fine to me! Would not work on complex designs..
I have a polaris 9550... i named it snort. snort snorts up the pool whilst i drink beer... it takes, usually, about four beers sometimes six if it's hot...
so, in snorts innards is a 'power pack' they call it. in said power pack there is a ring and pinion- and it's made of nylon. and for a device so pricey, it should have been aluminum... or bronze... nibral?... no... gold. it should have been gold instead of nylon, especially because you can't swap out the ring and pinion by itself... you have to buy a new power pack. power packs cost literally half a new snort.
when snort works though? she is amazing. i bet she could suck up the neighbors kid and deposit her in the skimmer basket. i may try that. she annoys me.
Here in Canada ... this is what you want ... I've had two different pools here, each one came with one ... they are around $800 Canadian ... I think that's like $40 USD.
Anyhow, I've had this for a long, long time ... great machine. Easy to clean.
