engine harness to helm

want to upgrade from faria gauges to smartcraft and whem i checked on the engine no blue cable installed but what puzzled me is that my boat is a 280ec 2009 with a 377 and the engine harness to helm seems to be missing wires compared to the one that on the motor counted only 7 pins on the helm harness and 14 pins comming from the engine is this normal
