I did this one as a replacement. The base is different so the holes didn't line up but I was able to remove the entire base from the previous one and put it on this one. If your base is broken you can just drill new holes.
I changed mine to the 20" version, but the base was slightly different. I drilled out the rivet and mounted the new light to the old base. Worked perfectly.
If you go original you might as well swap out and put LED bulbs in while your already working on it.
That is what I did. Man are they bright. On a separate note, I put LED's in the "reading lights" and they are BRIGHT!!! I might cover them with white tape to calm them down. If not, I will have to look at a different bulb.
