confirm lewmar 700 to replace 600

morning fellas 
hope all had a good weekend of yachting 
finally got hot on table rock.

my 600 is making noise like it never has = 06 270 ec
ive searched and seen where y'all are  replacing with the lewmar pro-fish 700 horizontal ?
is this pretty much plug n play ?
free fall or no free fall ?
any one get the remote ? = i think this would be helpful 
i read where it needs the  1/4 chain / 1/2 rope

your thoughts and experiences with this = please

    I have the 1000 and has free fall and that’s a great option so I’d recommend it. As @Handymans342 says call them and they will advise of compatibility with your ride now and Gypsy accordingly.

    its making a metal grinding noise = loud
    seems last 2 seasons its always been something = granted some could be rode.
    chain comes up fine = rope will jump out on letting down and coming up
    couple times this weekend chain kinked or wedged coming up = never has

    just thinking / looking ahead + i think the remote would be nice

    Just note if you go to the 1000 you will likely have to totally rewire.

    For now my 600 wiring is working okay with the 1000, but it's only 5 feet deep here usually, so it barely gets used.  I've run the new wires, just need to get from the switch to the breaker then to the battery.. just one of those things that gets put on the back burner that really shouldn't.

    I replaced mine with a 1000 and luckily the wiring was already 4awg from battery and to the junction box so you can check. 

    You’ll need to rewire the small connector box with low voltage for the new switch and make something for the new switch plate as it’s smaller than the old one  I just reused my old plate and cut a hole in it for the new switch. As far as the windlass goes, dropped right into the same holes.

    Looks like i am the next one to replace his 600 for a 700.  I have just had enough of it chewing up flemings and getting bound up.  I received the new one today and it looks like they definitely improved the design.  This one is going in this weekend.

    That works for me. Barring anything unforeseen, we are still planning on coming down. Right now we are thinking about leaving Wednesday afternoon so we have extra time.

    I have and ready to install the 700 pro series. It recommends 1/2 line 1/4 chain. I want to go with what’s on my 600 horizon which is 5/8 line and 5/16 chain. Has anyone done this my boat is the 312

    without changing out the gypsy it will not work.
