12 Volt Carbon Monoxide Detector

I was gifted a 12 volt carbon monoxide detector, where is the best place to install and easiest way to tap in to existing 12v power?  My boat is equipped with a generator so thinking somewhere near the aft cabin.

Definately in the sleeping bunk.  I added a second one to my vee berth too (battery powered).

BTW you should already have one factory mounted in the mid cabin berth
