Stainless bottle opener

I thought this very important part should get its own thread. I ordered it on eBay, seems to be very good quality polished stainless. I will be installing it between the cockpit refrigerator and ice maker.

    No glass here either. And almost every bottle in Canada is twist off anyway. But nice shiny toy!

    It’s a perfect fit for the spot. I just need to convince myself to drill the holes! (I’ve had it for a couple weeks now).

    Raise it up and see if the 2 screws in the corian counter match and put it there..... Just say'n

    I like Ray's idea but if you go ahead with drilling into the gel coat I'm sure you know to run your bit in reverse first to greatly reduce the chance of a chip! Good luck - MT

    I still haven’t installed it yet, should I go for it?? I definitely could have used it a few times last season. Do you think I risk cracking the gel coat when opening a bottle or do you think the plywood behind will keep it tight?

    That is a nicely finished piece. That's the place to put it. Depends if you're a bottle guy.

    Almost exclusively cans on our boat. Rarely does a bottle make it on board anymore.

    I would screw something into those Corian screws like a thin piece of starboard and then attach it to that.

    That area is really strong. I wouldn’t worry about cracks. 

    It almost killed me installing the vent there.

    I wouldnt install a bottle opener there. Our 342 was a similar setup and I just kept a bottle opener on the counter. I dont think you will damage anything when using it, its just two added screw holes that I wouldnt want to add.

    It almost looks like the screw hole spacing on the opener is the same as the countertop filler panel...?

    @YYZRC , I checked that last season. The opener hole spacing is bigger.

    I'd probably try first using just the top screw already there in the countertop filler as mentioned.  Only the top screw would get pull on it when opening.  It would at least let you know if you like it there before adding a permanent screw.
